“We were already familiar with the products of G&C Raby, so it was only natural that we took advantage of our stay in Charente to visit the estate and gain a deeper understanding of how their cognacs and pineaux are made. The tour, announced as lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, fully lived up to our expectations. It was rich and comprehensive, clearly covering every stage of the production of these exceptional eaux‑de‑vie, from vineyard work to barrel ageing.
The owner shared her passion with simplicity and generosity, speaking not only about the efforts made to achieve and maintain environmental certifications (Haute Valeur Environnementale) but also about the initiatives undertaken to preserve biodiversity around the estate. The welcome was truly remarkable.
We left with not only a much better understanding of the distiller’s craft but also with a special sense of emotion.
